@ Paúl Sánchez – I have 5 fingers on each hand and they often complain when cutting thick card

The exhausts are rather boring to assemble. The paper tends to delaminate and I often choose to force the process. The paper rolls serve to get a proper shape and ease the gluing task.

@ Paúl Sánchez – I’m afraid to disappoint you but dioramas are not my beach. It might be interesting to put a pilot on a plane with an open (or removable) cockpit. Hmmm, someday

@ Gerardo – you know it is free

The exhaust’s emplacements on the structure didn’t look perfectly aligned with the skin part. So, I opted to fix them to the skin and make some cuts on the structure to make way.

Such clean work once again! And it looks like the shark has a good dentist - perfectly white teeth. The elaborate internal structure of Halinski models is intriguing, sometimes a bit over the top (?). The designer must be a structural engineer by profession...

Regards,
Erik

Magnificent exhausts. Impressive attention to a small detail.

This model is on track to be the best P-40 ever, and there have been some mighty fine P-40s built in this forum.

@ Erik – indeed. If the structure parts fit well inside the skin, OK. If not, they can make things complicated. In this case, as the nose geometry is complex, I’m not complaining about too much structure.
@ Don – you frighten me! I’m here to share, not to compete

The radiator intake ducts have a peculiar shape. It is circular at the radiator’s faces but far from that at the front. Regarding the teeth, they are distributed on several parts but it is not easy to find a misalignment! Another point on the “plus” side for Halinski…

Sorry Ricardo. Bad choice of words on my part. I did not mean to inject an element of competition in any way. Indeed, the joy of this forum is the collegial and cooperative atmosphere. I was just trying to express how impressed I am with your skills, while acknowledging other model builders of whom I am in awe.

@ Gerardo – Maybe I should wear armored gloves to handle it! Brrrrr…
@ Don – I got the idea and, of course, I’m thankful. Please just don’t take me too seriously
I am glad (indeed!) with the collegial and cooperative atmosphere, as you say, of this forum

Before apllying the sharkmouth, I glued the wings to the fuselage and assembled the radiator exhaust ducts. The front part has a very strange shape, both with inward and outward curves…
