Curtiss P-40E - Halinski - 1/33

This kit was not in my plans for the near future. However, a Group Build about shark mouths on the Portuguese forum changed the plans and I don’t complain. Rather the opposite, as the P-40 is an Halinski from the period they were more productive on completely new kits.
So, I hope to be happy for quite a while with 620 parts. They are printed on 4 colored pages and 1,5 pages on thin paper. The kit, as shown in the first pictures, includes the usual assembly drawings. Everything looks neat, well-engineered, well designed and well painted, including, of course, a huge shark mouth…

It looks like you are in a very good momentom - keep it up as long as you can - there is no substetute for the good feeling of building models in a row. Anyway the P-40 with the shark tooth mouth is one of the WW2 icons and according to your beautiful last models here should be a very good looking model !

Welcome aboard, friends

@ Yair – it would be strange NOT to have something on the workbench. The problem is that I dedicate just a few minutes a day for the forum. Be sure that there is plenty to show

I started with the cockpit. Today's pictures include the middle fuselage structure, in the cockpit area. As usual, I didn't buy the laser cut parts. There is nothing "impossible" to cut, here...

Ayoh!! This is going to be nice, very nice. Good choice Ricardo and you have my attention, again! Good luck, but you're off to a good start already . I have a Halinski Dauntless on my pile and with every day passing it's getting harder to leave it there to await its turn....

Cheers,
Erik

I hope to keep it that way, Don

@ Erik – I’d love to see you building a Dauntless . I have a copy, too, but it is not slated for the foreseeable future.

A usual when strength is not needed, I swapped the proposed wires by rolled paper. They are more straightforward to paint and to glue. The seat supports are clearly in this category.
