So far everything fits great. No issues here.

Still left is the brake parachute housing in the back and top of the fin sensor housings in green.

Cool Breaking parachute housing

At the base of the vertical fin is the housing for the breaking parachute used on landing to slow down the plane.

my picture I took at Crackow museum:
Suchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-dsc08583.jpg

and a picture from the internet for reference:
Suchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-sukhoi-su-7-break-parachute.jpg

But first, must install the heat shield above the engine exhaust and the parachute housing.

Suchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-img_1549.jpgSuchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-img_1550.jpg

but, I made an error.
Suchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-img_1551.jpg

I forgot to install a small triangular frame that forces the shield up to mate correctly. So I removed the shield and inserted the small frame

Now its all back correctly

framing for the housing goes next

Dry fit the forward portion of the housing. Looks good to go.

And it's on now.

The clam shell doors for the housing will go on next

Exclamation Break parachute doors

The aft end of the housing is the two doors that open and close as needed to release the chute.

Lots of cutting and seam joining here.

Tim
After I glued it, I thought of having the doors open showing the parachute pack.

I wish I thought of it earlier

Smile Rudder and rear sensor

The rudder is attached with the 3 small tabs on either sides attached to the vertical fin.

Cool long fairings along the fuselage

A distinguished feature of the Suchoi 7 family are the two long fairing on top of the fuselage. Also, on some versions, there was a long one on the bottom.

These features are really engineering compromises ( or really screw ups ). In which someone decided to route wiring and tubes from the front to the back, but there was no room inside the fuselage, or needed better access to them, so they faired them over ( causing more weight and drag ).

Anyhow,

Here are the long frames

fairing ready
Suchoi-7BKL Polish AF. Hobby Model 1/33 scale-img_1573.jpg

On top

a small note is that the right one should be on the left and visa versa. The outline on the fuselage is also wrong. I checked my photos to be sure.

And the lower one

This is going to be pause in the building. Going on vacation for 2 weeks.

Hello! You should cut this white fields on the rudder to do holes and use formers in this 3 tabs to attach rudder to vertical fin. Now its may be complicated to do this.

Red face More posting soon

I am back home for a few days. I just could not work on the model. My head was just not there. So I watched many movies and documentaries on Netflix. Some really nice.

Anyhow, I will post some progress soon as I started building the many air scoops that are on the fuselage.

I find that my perpetual travels just are not helping the building process.
