Thanks, friends
@ Vasaq - very nice Vindicator! You did some extra work, as the original kit doesn't include parts for the folding wings! Yes, the kit is much better than the paper... The structure parts, to be reinforced with card, are colored in very light yellow. It is not bad but, you know, they will be completely hidden. |

Tanks Don
Being a relatively small two seater, the cockpit takes a good part of the fuselage... |

That's very nice work on the instrument panel Ricardo. Reminds me of the F104G Kartonowa panel where I cut out some 22 small circles with the tip of a sharp hobby knife and then used small toothpicks to rub out any irregularity. Painstaking work but as you show us, the end result is spectacular. I wonder, like Yoav, how you have done it.
So the back seater also had a control stick, but he's facing backwards. I wonder how that worked out in case of an emergency with the pilot being not able to fly.... Cheers, Erik |

@ Yoav / Erik – the tools I use are in the attached picture. You see two kinds of small circle cutters. They work differently in what regards stresses imposed on the paper. The upper tool forces the paper outwards and shall not be used on closely spaced holes. For those, or for very small holes, I use the tool in the bottom. It imposes shear stresses that are not very problematic if you apply a compression force that stabilizes the paper. You can spot two punchers on the right. They work the same way as the top tool and are great to make rivets!
Yes, it doesn’t look easy for the back seater to fly in an emergency. The gun mount can rotate and maybe the “seat” (not a conventional one…) can rotate, too. |
