Murph's Model - Tupolev Tu-22M Backfire, Ukraine, 1/200
The original scale of this model is 1/94 and I have downscaled it to my favourite scale. Must admit that this is not an easy one to build, took me twice to do the fuselage satisfactorily. Of course not up to the standard of great masters here on this forum, I hope you still enjoy the views.

Thanks, kentyler. Forgot to mention that some weight should be put in the nose cone as this is a tail-sitter. And, yes, the wing sweep mechanism though feeble, still works fine. I used a pin as pivot instead of the original design of a glued up 4-5 mm paperaxle so the wings move easier.

Very nice build, congratulations!!!
And about masters, lets stratify by scale, then in this scale Papermate is one of the greatest masters, as he has profusely shown! In my humble opinion if you are reducing the scale, the more complicated the build, in particular if you are reducing more than 50%. Again, in my humble opinion. |
