Hi !!
Thank you for the nice comments ! It's really motivating @Yoav: And many thanks to you Yoav for the cockpit file! I should try to build one of your models at 1/100 scale ! it could be a great challenge and a way for me to build your models but also saving space! @Wireandpaper: In my case this is how I did it: Step 1: Print the sheet with the canopy twice, one at the real scale of the model (for the canopy mold) and one a little bit bigger (but just a little bit, for the frame) Printing the frames a little bit bigger will improve the fitting of the frames and counter the plastic thickness, because they are going to be glued ON the plastic canopy, and not at the same level See the little diagram explaining the problem, in yellow color is the area not covered by the frames. Step 2: Build the regular paper canopy with the paper seals outside (on the printed side, to get a smooth mold) Step 3: Reinforce the paper canopy with hot glue on the printed side (the mold is made of plaster but also water, reinforcing the paper mold is to keep his shape even damp) I do this because once I did a mold form paper and because of the weight of the plaster and the fact that the paper was damp the mold was "flat" on the side where it was resting. You can also see the "crusible" in the video. Step 4: Fill the paper canopy with plaster and water Step 5: Once dry, remove the paper mold and sand the plaster mold with a fine sand paper to get a smooth surface. Step 6: I built a little vacuforming box, it's a wooden box with many holes on the upper side and a larger hole on one side, where I connect the vacuum cleaner duct. You'll need a frame to attach the plastic sheet to prevent it from folding on herself and a heat gun (hair dryer are not hot enough). Step 7: Put the mold on the box, turn the vacuum cleaner on, heats the plastic sheet until she starting to get soft and then immediatly press the plastic sheet on the mold, because of the vacuum it will sitck to the box and take the mold shape. Step 8: Now cut the canopy part out of the bigger one and keep only the frames. Step 9: You can now glue the canopy frames ont the plastic canopy one and then cut it off the mold. Thank you again ! Best regards, Ronan

Hi everyone !
I've started an another project a few weeks ago, I ve been pretty busy for a while so the project is advancing very slowly. It's an another 1/100 model but this time really more complexe than usual, A dewoitine D-338 designed by Renesson (original scale 1/66). While looking for pictures on the internet I came across a french modelers group where someone built this aircraft in plastic at 1/72 scale and covered up the whole model with aluminium foil. He also designed seats in paper and they are free to download ! Dewoitine 338, Air France Orient, Broplan 1/72 I used the sheet and reworked it (the original file is not available anymore, only a bad quality screenshot). Ive also rescaled it to get approximately 1/100 scale. Best regards ! Ronan

I've just got the D.338 Ofanim and intend doing the same as you with it. Any chance of you posting some build progress pics?
Cheers, Garry G. |

Since it's going to be a quite big model in terms of number of parts and difficulty I think I should do a separate thread for it, in that case I will be able to put all the progress pictures.
For now this pictures is the current state of the airplane, I will try to build more Best regards, Ronan

Hi everyone !
This is it, I've finally finished my latest model. An EF-2000 Typhoon FGR4 of the 41(R) Squadron - Royal Air Force. This model is based on the Ojimak Typhoon that I've rescaled, improved and repainted. As always the model is at 1/100 scale. I also made a youtube video of the build, here is the link https://youtu.be/Cr4lHd8ELNA By the way the Dewoitine is not dead, I just need to figure out how to fix the wings Best regards ! Ronan
