Thanks, BPS No, I hate to work with plastic canopies. It will surely be one of the last things I’ll deal with…

I added some card rectangles to the ammunition boxes. They provide gluing surface and ease the assembly.

What a beautiful details altogether, Ricardo! Yep, that's Halinski's special. I agree with the pricing. The fun and satisfaction to compile such a number of parts and the many, many hours spent on building such a model make it almost for free.

Regarding the function of the big lever to the left of the cockpit seat, you may be right, but on the other hand the cockpit was such a crammed space, I wonder if any seat adjustment was possible at all. If anyone can tell what number 10 stands for this mystery is solved.....

Erik

Hmmmm... Clever trick... For sure it helps with these small boxes. Now I understand how to get these perfectly square and regular: very few edge-gluing.

Excellent as always, Ricardo. I'm curious to see how the colorful nose will be rendered in this model.

Regards

João

@ Erik – number 10, downing seat?

@ João – no edge gluing for me, please, unless it is on 1mm thick card
The nose seems trickier than on the P40. I'll get there...

The rear part of the cockpit is quite long. It has not a proper seat but there are safety belts, nevertheless. Looking closely, you can spot how I fixed the thin wires that lie inside the rolled paper supports.

Exceptional work on this. Boy, that read "seat" looks mighty uncomfortable, especially on a long flight or in combat.

Thanks, Joe and Lukas
@ Joe - I suspect that the noise with the cannons firing would not add a lot to the crew's comfort!...

The side panels take the whole cockpit length. The top frame is thin and quite nasty to cut. The card thickness is covered, on both openings, with narrow paper strips. They are included in the kit and I delaminated them, in order to reduce the thickness and get a better look.

Very nice work Ricardo. Despite its length, the cockpit was a very crammed working space. Amazing amount of details - time to consider a Halinski as next build .

Have a good weekend,
Erik
