Kampfflieger Nakajima Ki-27b 1/32

Well...I again just need to start a new one as I'm having a ball. I purchased this guy as one of my favorite airplanes and it's fun to build from different designers. So...here goes.

The "in the box" kit shot:

I just cut my own A4-sized paper and now I'm doubling and gluing the bulkheads and spars for strength. Once dry, I'll start cutting.

Cheers,

Dan

Great looking kit. Good luck, Dan.

So far, so good...it's interesting to see how different designers work and solve problems. This one is a "simple" kit (I think) but so far has been more challenging (for me) than the Whirlwind mostly due to few locating lines and the fuselage components are formers and butt joints. I kind of liked the tabs. But...they are still working just fine!

I think I like a bit more structure to my wings as these tend to curl and warp...pilot error but I think I need more "beef".

I've since put on the fin/rudder with no issues, will start the wing fillets and the stab tonight!

More soon,

Dan

Thanks, Don and Gary...just don't look TOO close!

Work continues quickly. I think I'll be able to finish the cowling tonight and start on the dreaded wheel pants. I can't see how they will go together without a bit of drama....We'll see.

I'll post more soon...and thanks for looking.

Dan, great progress. You've done really well with the wing fillets. Best of luck with the u/c pants!
