Thank you Pericles, and combidc10. I appreciate you stopping by.

John, yes they did line up very well. However I made a mistake in their
location on the kit part, and had to rotate the engine pod to put them in
the correct position. Which, due to my error, caused the exhaust shroud
to be misaligned.

Thats why its a beta!

well.......... you did have to smack me upside my head a couple of times before I finally started to listen to you......

Just tell what needs to be done and I'll do it right........eventually (you still might need to warm up your smacking arm)

I don't think any changes should be warranted. Its just a matter of rotating the entire pod to align the markings along the visual centerline.

Now, we have wings. Again, straight forward wing construction, no surprises.
I sanded the trailing edge of the wings to give a thinner appearance, and also
massaged the wingtips downward, as on the real aircraft.

As the YA-10 did not have chaff/flare dispensers installed, I deleted them from the
lower side of the wing tips. Can anybody see it? Nope, but I know they are not
there.

In the latest episode, we have modified, assembled, and installed the horizontal and vertical stabilizers.

In this picture, you can see the modified vertical stabilizers. The YA-10 had an angled lower
leading edge, vs the round cap added to the production version. Bruno's kit had the angled
panel line already in place, so this was just a matter of removing the round portion.
As well, the YA-10 did not have any of the threat warning receivers on the lower vertical
stabilizers, so these were removed from the parts as well.

In these two pictures, the aft flying surfaces are installed.

In the aft view, you can better see the curve in the wing tips.

Looks great, Ray.

I am sure you answered this question before, but my aging brain doesn't remember so well anymore -- did you ever serve with the 23rd Fighter Group?

Yes Sir I did indeed. A little over two and half years as a C-130 flight engineer (C-130s with teeth!), and then 4 years with the 75th FS and 4 years with the 74th FS at Pope AFB, NC.
