I know VX107 was converted and used on Operation Black Buck, landing in Ascension. From there she was later used for Casevac from RAF Stanley. Last I heard she was being dismantled at Bruntingthorpe.
1967 i believe was when name changed.here is old scheme

In service the Go-faster stripe was much more prominent, and the windows were in it. Nice to see an RAF VC10 with the correct cargo loading doors shown. Believe it or not, both these pictures are of VX107 (RIP old friend). She probably got the subdued livery for the Falklands war.

Dong Woo ... If you recolour it to BA colours, check on the fuselage length, Door, and window spacing The RAF ones were the earlier short body version. (Apart from some retired BA ones that the RAF converted to tankers.)
I read an article about the VC10, and I think it said that BA operated Super VC10s. I need a good diagram to count the windows....

Have a look through Bruno's One Model Per Day ... thread. The differences were discussed with his VC10, which he kindly reworked into VX107 for me.

One model per (non-working) day

One day I'll get used to not calling her VX107 ... Her number was VH107, but she was a real X-plane for us.

They were nice planes.

Never flew in an RAF, but I did do plenty flights in the East African Airways Super VC 10's....

Remember there always seemed to be tons of leather in the cockpits. Not really, but somehow that was the impression they always made on me....

I've never been on a VC10 before... :( When I was looking for one at a RAF base they were all retired. Shame I was born in the 21st century.

Here's some more work. I want to build the wings again because I messed up the gear well.

Yu,p Dong-Woo - us chaps who were born in the dark ages.

I guess Herky, john and I are giving our ages away!!!!

-------------------------------

Herky - lucky you. I always wanted to go to Singapore - heard so many nice things about it. HMS Terror always looked like a nice base in the pictures.
