Nakajima Ki-27b, 1/33 Kampfflieger
Hi,
Welcome in new report. This time inspired by our forum mate smithdr, I decided to make the same model that he did I got my model from ZarkovModels web store. The model is Nakajima ki-27b by Kampffliger. Original scale of this model is 1/32 but I rescaled it to 1/33. Not so big difference, but I'd like to keep all my models in the same scale. Because I live in Thailand, I decided to pick ki-27b in Royal Thai Air Force color scheme. This is the direct link to the model in the store: Ki-27b Royal Thai Air Force I used 150 gsm paper in A4 format. Once I printed it out I covered parts by 2 layers of clear matt varnish in spray. So 'In the box' we have 4 sheets of parts (actucally 3,5) and 4 drawings. I used 1mm card for all of the skeleton parts. I started with cockpit. I used 1mm cardboard to thicken part nr 1 even pictures show that it isn't necessary. But I think cockpit's floor shouldn't be soft. Then I made pedals, control boxes, rod and seat. No problems at this stage. I retouched parts with Tamiya XF-8 and XF-69 for blue and black parts as well as Citadel Dawnstone and Eshin Grey for grey parts. That's all for now. Next update comming soon Lukas |

Oh Boy! Wonderful to see you making this guy. The only thing I'd do is put some tabs along the wing trailing edges since mine tended to get a little thin and pinched once I added glue.
Great scheme! Dan |

Outstanding work!
I have Nobi's two Ki-27s (13th and 50th Sentai birds). They are going together well, but given my level of hand skills, they will not look nearly as good as yours. Appreciate the info on materials you use. Don |
