Met him on several occasions, always a gentleman and nice guy. He did some amazing things with his p-51 and twin commander.
The aviation world has lost a great man.

If there ever was a real 'stick and rudder man', someone who could fly by the seat of his pants, not stepped into a cockpit but more or less wore a plane as a second skin, it was Bob Hoover.
He really was gifted with a phenomenal feeling for flight.
Indeed, he lived a very full and rich life.
