The diorama was made in the course of the day. I have not painted with a brush very long time , so it turned out not as good as I had planned )))

I am curious about the tools. How did you cut the ends of the needles to be flat and remain sharp with no burrs?

Nothing complicated, the needle grinds on an emery stone, to reduce the number of burrs can be inserted into the channel of the needle wire of similar diameter. Although I've never done this, the Burr was removed the usual model knife, or a thin drill. Further sharpening and maintaining the sharpness of the needle is sandpaper glued to a wooden block.
Better and more precise cropping and sharpening the needles is done in a lathe or micro drills, but even the manual production of this tool gives good results.
Such as needle I use for the manufacture of rivets on the larger models.
