More progress since my last post the week before Christmas. Progress has slowed as other projects are diverting my attention.
The nose is done and the front and rear turret rings are installed. I had to put a piece of toothpick in the front ring to act as a brace while the liberally applied superglue cured. And then I had to paint the blue since this ink dissolves in all but pva glue... The front window looks not so good. Neither does the window framework. Its all a mess when looked at up close. This is most definitely a yard project to be viewed from three feet (1 meter) away. The thought of making the dome turret canopies front and rear is so not appealing since the patterns are petals. I've gotta come up with a solution I think, before new years eve eve. Which is where I stumbled accidentally into a solution.... Also got the wing frames built up. this bird is much larger than I had originally thought. Oh and that "solution" gets some upgrades and refurbishing before it's put into use. greg

Looks like I need to play catch up again. It appears that my phone does not like my computer at the moment, so I cannot transfer picture files directly from it into the laptop hard drive. I've had to email the pictures 2 at a time to get them transferred. Frustrating.
Any way here is my progress. Fit is ok but is complicated by the feather livery trying to get the feather parts to line up. Found an issue with the feathers on the bottom. Orientation on the main fuselage piece is backwards on the right side behind the bomb bay. I also upgraded my old Mattel vac-u-form machine and have been able to create clear canopies for the pilot, nose and tail gunner. They are not perfect but much better than trying to make them from the patterns provided. greg

Ok Greg. The K12 is looking great. But you piqued my interest with the Mattel vac u form upgrade. I have one, and it doesn't hold vacuum anymore. What did you do to upgrade it?
I'm intrigued!

Great looking subject. I still don't see how it could fly with positive stability as it has no tail and I doubt they had the technology to control it otherwise. Love the paint scheme Isaac
