Already thoroughly enjoying this instrument panel as well Al. Youe seem to have an innate talent for doing this. Hope you don't tire of it any time soon.

Variometro

Hello PMs

Well this project is really taking its time with regards to the research. I knew when I took this project on there would be a lack of information with regards to gauge design, graphics and dimension etc but I think Im about there. Ive tracked down just about all the instruments Im after, see the reference file in the link below.

Macchi C202 Archive

OK, I've been working on the Variometro or the angle of climb and descent indicator, see below the real item and the graphic I've put together for the project:

As normal I printed this onto white paper, glued it to picture framing card and cut it out.

Sample pic in position:

Next came the glass ring. Ive printed line up holes to aid assembly. I simple drilled the holes out and installed cocktail sticks inside. This aids the final assembly considerably as I can ruff cut them out, position the plastic between them and pin it all together:

The clock hand was next:

Made adjustable of course with a simple wire:

Unlike the gauges from the BF 109 project, these gauges are held in place at the rear of the Instrument Panel so no further work to the exterior of the gauge is required. I painted the hand and the numbers with glo in the dark paint which is outstanding!

Catch you soon

Data Plates

Hello PMs

Ive been busy this week making data plates for various projects.

The Macchi has an interesting plate on the side of the cockpit:

Ive managed to reproduce the graphics and it looks quite good. Next week ill print them off of and stick them to aluminium sheet:

I have not had a warning for linking pictures but decided to remove my account from photphukeet. I hope they lose tons of accounts, and maybe go out of business.

Photobucket

Hi Whulsey

Yep, it hit me big too unfortunately. You can catch all the pictures on my avatar link though. I recon photobucket have lost some customers there. Oh well, life goes on.

Regards
