Gauge A
Hello PMs
Just a quick update on the panel, Ive completed the second allemano gauge for the Macchi Instrument Panel. The construction has been pretty much the same but with a modification to the side. I noticed in the Spanish Air Force Museum a Allemano Gauge O with a grip on the side which Ive incorporated on this gauge as they all varied slightly. Graphic pritstick to MDF card all the components The modification to the side some dials - inlet and outlet hands The complete Gauge A In position next to the Gauge O The whole panel so far: More to come Enjoy |

Help Needed
Pms
Can you help? Im after a realy good picture of the Undercarriage indicator inside a Macchi C202. There are very few of these gauges around. Heres 2 pics of the location of the gauge. Also I think its diameter is 88mm. If anyone can confirm this it would be great! This is inside the similar C205 Any help here would be much appriciated Al Z |

Gauge C
Hello PMs
Thanks for the support as always guys. It is mainly MDF cdavenport I can assure you but for the last two gauges Ive cast the outer bezel for speed and to make them look all the same size. The bolts are real also but I need those to support the weight. As for the help, keep the ideas coming in. currently Im in contact with the company Allemano in Italy who are checking if they actually made the indicator in the 1940s. The Italian Air force Museum have been a great help and they went into their C202 specially for me only to find all the gauges are gone. If Allemano come up blank Ill try the Smithsonian Mike. Gauge C
PMs
As Im still awake having just finished another gauge, take a look at this one. This is the Manifold Pressure Gauge or Gauge C as I call it. Made exactly the same as the last two gauges with some slight modifications to the sides and with the addition of max and norm tabs made from Card (CornFlake box to be exact). tabs pained I used some model railway transfers for the letters The finished item: In Its position: Full view: Have a good weekend Enjoy |

Al Z, startlingly good workmanship, as is your usual 'thing'! Are you also now learning Italian, as well as Spanish?

On a more positive note, the museum website also states "Starting August 1, the Archives Technical Reference Files will not be available for research, in person or by email request. The collection will be relocating from the Museum location in Washington, DC, to our Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia. We anticipate reopening access to the Technical Reference Files at the Udvar-Hazy Center in Fall 2018." With a big relocation move like that it is possible that the material will be properly sorted and catalogued, so a search may produce something quite quickly ...... later in the year. May I suggest an Archives Search Request, and be sure include the Museum's Inventory Number A19600332000 for the C.202. Briefly tell them about your panel project, and ask whether they have any manuals, technical drawings or good photos (historical or relatively recent) of the cockpit interior that will show the detail you need. I don't think including any links to this PaperModelers thread would be much use, as you have to be registered and logged-in to see thread photographs, but perhaps a link or two to photos of your previous 109 panel, on any other good sites where they may have been published, would be a good way to display your bona fides? Who knows, you may end up connected to an enthusiastic Museum researcher/archives person who is just as keen as you are to uncover the stuff you need!
