Fly Model 111 - La-5

I have a habit, when a model starts to go slowly, like now with the Efroni canopy, I am starting a new model. This time it is a Fly Model Lavochkin La-5, at scale 1-33. It is a double model that include also the Yak 9.

The La-5 is a ww2 soviet fighter, that started by changing the Lagg-3 liquid engine with a radial one. The results were amazing, and it was produced immediately.

The model up to now was built "out of the box".

The model up to now is accurate, but the fuselage is without tabs, so I had to add it wen possible.

Great choice of classic WW2 Soviet fighter planes.

Looking good

Nice, is it me or is the cockpit cutout a little off centre?

Thanks Mike1158 and Yoav.

I belive that the cutout is in the center. In top view you can see that the line for engine maintenance panel are off center.

Well done. I have this same dual kit and the canopies. It is high on my list to be built, and I will make reference to your build when I do.

Two things to notice from the photo:

Starter hog on the prop spinner for a truck mounted starter, and the variable geometry cooling fins/blocker doors behind the spinner.

Minimum equipment on the plane that save weight.
