What Airplane is This?

I was watching TCM the other night and they had a Rock Hudson movie that I had never before seen. It was shot in the mid-50's and featured a number of great classic airplanes. There were two identical low-wing monoplanes. I have attached a movie poster showing the white version of the plane. Can anyone here identify this plane?

Thanks,

Curt

I think I found it!based on what I can tell, it is a Culver Dart. I found a site that lists aviation films with a synopsis and a list of featured aircraft. Tarnished Angels features the Dart, a DH Gypsy Moth, a Vultee A1-A, and "others".

If it is the Culver Dart, it must be the radial engined "experimental" one modified for aerobatics.

When I searched for images of the Dart, I found these two right toward the top of the list, and they matched. I didn't have time to look if they were a special version. I could see that some had a more streamlined engine and other had a radial. Like many aircraft of the same vintage, I figured the streamlined version was just an updated one to get better performance.
