Hello Isaac,

the G.91 is a cool airplane.

But since a long, long time I work on the Hunting Percival Pembroke in 1:33. A neverending story ...

Hi Martin - Thanks for your kind comments. I bought your beautifully-designed FJ-1 several years ago and enjoyed my initial work on the build. Everything fit very well and the design of the model facilitated construction. Regrettably, I encountered a problem with my craftsmanship (NOT your design) and took a break from the build. I am going to be tied up for the next couple of months with teaching and participating in public paper model events, after which, I am determined to finish this beautiful model. Isaac was kind enough to press two additional copies of his formed canopy and send them to me, which is an additional incentive to finish the model.

I have always liked the FJ-1 and other late 1940s-early 1950s USN and USAF jets. That was the period in which I was learning to build models and to learn about airplanes, so there is an element of nostalgia.

Thank you for designing the FJ-1 and making it available. Eventually I hope to live up to your design and Isaac's example and encouragement.

Don
