Very nice work Isaac. The parts fit nicely, and you're doing a very clean build.

Cool Final small details

At this point, I added the nose gear aft door , the pitot tube in the tail and the other fuel tank and fins.

Only thing remaining is to make a plug and vacuform a canopy

Cool Semi final status

Here is what the model looks like minus the canopy

Canopy is the hardest task. Coming up.

Wow...that is one handsome piece of work, Isaac. Super smooth. Canopy will really top it off!

Cool making a canopy mold

First step is to make a paper mold/ tub to pour the plaster into.

Here is the template
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2959.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2960.jpg

and now formed into a paper canopy ( glue tabs on the outside )

Test fit on the model
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2962.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2963.jpg

cross section check

FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2968.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2969.jpg

and here is the tub
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2970.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2971.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2972.jpg

plaster goes in next

Cool making the plaster plug

next is to pour the plaster of Paris
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2973.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2974.jpg
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2975.jpg

add wood pedestals to the top ( this will keep the plaster mold off the vacuform table for a better conformity ).
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2976.jpg

after it is dry, use hot water and fingers to break/melt the paper mold away.

and here is the initial plaster canopy plug.
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2977.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2978.jpgFJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2979.jpg

and light sanding, it needs fixing where I left the internal frames ( next time, when the tub is dry, remove those before pouring the plaster ). I had to gouge them below the surface and add putty. Nothing major though.
FJ-1 Fury in 1/33 scale-img_2980.jpg

putty repair and all is well. sanded and smooth.
