I'm working on resculpting the engines. I didn't like how they turned out. I may have to sneak down and have a gander at the real thing.

Hi Scon10,

Wonderfully crafted Electra and the pictures of the aircraft on short finals over the fields near Schiphol airport are very artistic. Congratulations with this result!

Regarding the flutter of the engine nacelles, just a short note. My father was an aeronautical engineer (he used to work for the NLR = Dutch National Aero & Space Laboratory and was a part time professor at the Delft University) and just before graduating in the early sixties his final case study was about this phenomenon. He used to explain me a lot about it. Especially, when as a kid I was very scared of flying due to seeing the wings moving up and down in flight. And then he gave me thosse lectures about aero elastics and the whole works. Well, somehow it paid off though, I lost my fear of flying and I can't think of anything more exciting in the world right now and even managed to obtain my flying license some 15 years ago. Time also flies, as we all know....

Cheers,
Erik

Any news on an Electra/P3? Airspray 492 is in town and hoping to get some more photos for details.

Keep up the great work.

Regards,
John

Thank you for this great present Bluenoser. As a your man so very long ago I worked for PSA(Pacific Southwest Airlines)and they used L-188 and Boeing 727. Loved them both but the L-i88 was a real treat flying into Burbank, Calif. Best E ticket ride there was at the time. Everything changed when the airline bought Boeing 737. Just not the same. Thank you very much. wc
