Thanks, everybody...this one has been on my wish list for years.
Elliot: I just use elastic thread. It takes some getting use to since it tends to curl a bit when you add thick CA to it, but just a dab is all you need and then you touch it to the paper and add a bit off accelerator. Fast and easy. I'll try and do a photo tutorial when I start this guy. Thanks for looking. Dan |

Thanks, Fellas...A bit more tonight!
After putting them on backwards (do'h!)...the floats are all fixed now and, again, surprisingly robust. I do think even elastic rigging will help a bit in this case. I'll start rigging tomorrow! Cheers, Dan |

That came out really nice. I'll be interested to see your rigging method. I love the old biplanes, but the rigging has always scared me away from building one.

Simple Rigging Tutorial
Hi Folks,
Here is a little video on YouTube (never done that before!) so I think it worked. It just shows how I rig these little guys. Let me know if this helps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DHrREcrIFM Dan |

Thanks for the great tutorial! I've always been afraid to rig my models (getting the lengths wrong, messing up the glue, unsightly attachments, etc.), but, seeing your technique, I'll have to give it and EZLine a try.

Hi Don et al.,
I'm glad the video may be of some use. It just takes some practice. I use this method A LOT with my plastic models and it's pretty much ideal for 1/72nd scale as long as you don't need the strength. In hindsight, the elastic thread is really perfect for paper models since, as long as you don't make the pieces too short and pull too hard, you won't warp or damage wings and tails. I can't wait to do my Kampflieger Gotha G-I and display it next to my Roden plastic Gotha G-III in the display case. After working on these paper models in this scale, I think they completely hold up with my other plastic builds. Such fun. Thanks for looking and have a great week. Dan |

All,
Here it is with guns, prop, tip floats and wing rigging. Much more stringing to go! Cheers, Dan |
