Lockheed "Viking" Fly 1:33
Hello folks,
after some resonance with building threads in german fora, I think it might be also for interest overseas. pic 1: the cover pic 2: the frames only counted from 1 to 3 (a lot of fun ;-) ) pic 3 + 4: only 15 cardstock parts and the nose is ready.

Looks like a complicated nose . May even consider vacuforming it out of plastic?

fly models generally are over engineered. the fly Vulcan for instance has about 10 pages of just formers. I started laminating them years ago the stack of formers not cut yet is 1 inch thick.

Looks like a good start to this challenging model.
I will enjoy watching your build and learning from your dialogue with other modelers. This aircraft has a special interest for me because I flew aboard one of the US-3A cargo versions from the Naval Air Facility Atsugi Japan to USS Carl Vinson in the East Sea/Sea of Japan and return in early 1990. I was the only passenger on board, was given the chance to handle the controls during the flight out, and sat just behind the pilot during the landing and take off (trap and cat). A great experience for an Army guy with a love of airplanes and ships. So it will be great to see this one take shape. Don |

Hello friends,
@CMDRTED: There exist different traditions in different countries about paper modeling. The east european countries (and germany, too) prefer such a kind of construction you see here. Please begin with building your "vulcan", it is a most impressive model. @Isaac, yes that may a possibility. But I'm a kind of purist, the vacumforming is only allowed with the cockpit screens. @Don, I bring back memories of yours, interesting story. Enjoy the thread, and don't be too exigent towards my skills... pic 1: puzzle pic 2+3: result
