Thanks, Gary. I'm amazed how the designer really got the character, sit and profiles really nice. It compares very favorably to the 1/32 plastic models I have of this beast! Really well done.

Thanks very much, folks. I do like these Marek designs. There is enough structure but they aren't super complicated for a new person. I'd love to give a Halinski a try...but maybe get a few more of these under my belt!
In any event, here is a small update. I made the rudder, one elevator so far (I want to video making the other one), drilled out the wing machine guns and finished the sandwiched wheels which now need to be sanded to the correct profile. Tomorrow could be busy! Thanks for looking...Dan |

Looking awfully good there Dan. What size drill did you use to bore the machine gun barrels?

Hi Elliot and thanks a bunch. I think it was a tiny bit in a hand-held drill...61 or 62...but then I opened it up with a toothpick until it got the size I think it should be.
Turned out ok! Cheers and Happy Sunday, Dan |

Almost done! As a reminder...here is a wheel in the raw...
And here they are done with some dust from a Polish field added for good measure. Don's shot the actual machine, and some photos I've also seen, suggest that the hubs are kind of dark. Maybe black? So that's how I repainted mine and then dry brushed a tiny bit with silver to pick out the spokes a tad. Here it is sitting on it's new tires! I think the next post will be a finished product (or really close). I need to add the antenna wire, the cowling guns and the canopy in the open position plus a bit of airbrush weathering and hiding of seams. Maybe I'll get it done soon! Cheers, Dan |
