How to create paperplane templates

Hi guys!

Last time I went here was many years ago, but since I'm doing an internship right now, I can dedicate much more time to my passion for paper airplanes.

I remember having to rely on ingenious creators such as Chiawatkom or Ojimak, but I'd like to be my own boss and build my own creations for once. The thing is that I have no clue as to where to begin, which is why I'm creating this thread.

This is an open question to all of you, experts in paper crafting. How do you create a paperplane template from scratch? Let's say... I have a blueprint or a 3D model of my airplane. Then what kind of software is required next?
If you could describe the usual building routine, I'd be so glad!

If another very detailed thread already exists about that matter, please link it here so that everyone can see it.

Many thanks to those who will answer!

Jaibe

PS: I plan to work on the f-35 and AV-8B Harrier in a near future, when I finally understand how to create a template. Let's cross fingers so that I succeed!!!
