BF ME 109 F4 in 1/48 scale by Kampfflieger

Giving my 1/250 scale navy a break. I have decided to make another Kampfflieger model from my stash of printed models I had stored for some years. The paper and ink has survived the years of storage quite well. My printing however is undersized. This model is about 1/54 scale rather then a true 1/48 scale. No bother.

I got the cockpit nearly done. Found a printing of extra parts to go with this kit so I made the cockpit 3D layered. I used thread for cables. Now to figure out that control panel placement...

Neat looking interior so far...I too have printed stuff out a bit small...but it's not big deal as I'm just learning anyway!

Can't have too many 109s. This will be fun to watch and quite different from your Nieuport.

Cheers,
Dan

Setting the cockpit aside and moving on to heavy layering of structural parts. Then some fuselage building...

My second hand computer went boom. A disappointment but I do have everything backed up. And I have found time to build...

The parts all fit. My biggest issue is bleed through from edge coloring and sloppy glue marks. I find myself going too fast in building...

Here are a few shots..

Thank you all!

I have not kept many models over the years as the fun is in the build. I have given most of my builds to kids. However I did dig up a small collection of 1:50-ish scale ME- 109s. They have been dust magnets. But a damp paper towl fixed things up.

The models are five to seven years old. I will need to replace radio wires and some of the untreated printing has faded but they are unexpectedly strong models!

I fear my new adventure is sloppy by comparison but the build is for the fun right?
