registered on fiddlersgreen and got three models of my choice

I decided to download the gee bee r1, the caproni-stip (flying barrel) and the huey hog, since I don't have a inkjet or photo inkjet printer, I had to print them at staples, rather expensive, but I'm starting my first serious paper project this evening

Expensive? A dime or two per page and you can probably still afford an upscale lunch at McD - or print a few extras for "modifications" (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it).

Yep, it costs me about a buck a page to print at high quality at home, still worth it though, compared to that "P" word modeling medium.

Which are you going to start with?

I would probably start with the huey hog, it seems like less work is involved

I have once buy a cheap Lexmark printer at Wal Mart for $35 and it print IMHO as good as my Cannon Canoscan now considering for the price and to print some thing basic like the color on the Fiddlers Green models. Of course the print cartridges will be $20 and $30 for the color when you need to refill.

81 cents a page? That does seem steep. I got B/W printing for some booklets at Office Despot for 8-9 cents a page, I remember color was significantly higher but don't think it was that high.

so I wasn't ripped off? I can't afford a color printer right now...I mean I can, but the cartridges are expensive and they don't seem to last very long

In the past I have pay $1 per page to have a color photo copy make. So I assume to print perhaps is $1 +/-

I can print a good amount of pages with a set of cartridges. And then I buy the ink refill instead of the whole cartridge, at least once. I find I can not keep to refill the cartriges over and over but at least one time it works fine.

If you buy 3 model, and print 3-4 page for the models then you pay nearly $10. Do that twice more and you buy a printer but with nothing to show and you can print with the printer 30-40 page per cartridges and you can opt not to print some page in the file or you can print things like instructions in "draft" and in "bw"

The Caproni it looks nice. It remind me of the Coleoptere I built here previously.

That's interesting. I assume you brought the PDF files to Staples. Did you have them on a USB memory stick or burn them to a CD? I've been curious if I can print from a USB stick at one of those places.
