Cool Air brakes on

At this point, I added the actuators and attached the airbrakes in fully opened position.

Cool Canopy

I got the canopy from Yoav during my visit back in 2015.
Visit to Israel

Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3392.jpg

That was a huge help as I did not have to make a mold

The next step is to give the canopy a bath in Pledge Future floor coating.
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3250.jpg

let it dry

and cover overnight

Now it is framed and the windshield is split from the canopy

Here is the windshield

and the windshield is installed on the aircraft

The canopy will be prepped next, but installed at the very end in the open position ( it is fragile and will break off if I install it now ).

Cool Canopy

The Canopy of the Super Mystere hinges from a rear arm in two locations ( at the canopy rear and the upper fairing.

This is common to the F-84F as well. picture of my RF-84F build.

Its purpose was to raise the canopy as well as have it go back without interference to the rear upper fairing.
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-super-mystere-open.jpg

Since Yoav's kit has it integral with the windshield and the upper fairing, I had it separated to its three components. That leaves the canopy unsupported.
So, I attached the rear arm in place

and then the two side arms . I made them from paper clip and small wood dowel and super glued to the inside of the canopy lower sides.
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3527.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3528.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3529.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3530.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3531.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3532.jpg

and dry fit.
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3534.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3535.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3536.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3538.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3539.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3542.jpg

It will be glued only when the model is finished so as to not break it off.
