Isaac,

I shocked that with all the attention to the speed brakes, you didn't make the control surfaces separate?

You're doing a magnificent job on this model.

Gary

I was thinking of separating the control surfaces, but they are very tight and I never seen pics of them in any position other than neutral. Same with the flaps. Always tucked in other than landing.

The horizontal stabs are all moving, so nothing to separate.

Cool Brake parachute housing

I decided to make the rear of the housing for the brake parachute out of wood.

I turned it on my mini lathe

painted it

The assembly

and applied to the tail.

Cool Air brakes- take 3

finally got the air brakes corrected and Yaron provided me with the test pieces which he will upload shortly.

So here are the parts
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3346.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3349.jpg

and assembled
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3351.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3352.jpg

I added small pieces of wood to the hinges to add a bit of strength when deployed

You're welcome

Here's air brakes file.
It suits the Israeli and French versions.

john: Can you upload the file to your site?

Cool Cockpit area

Just to recap.

The cockpit tub is a one piece part
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3219.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3220.jpg

It is then slipped into the cut out on the fuselage and fits nicely in place

Here is the ejection seat major assemblies

( small arm rests were added later )

Smile Cockpit back- behind headrest

The area behind the ejection seat head rest is open as the model is designed with the canopy closed. However, since I opened it up, I added an additional frame made of card ( double thickness ) painted flat black and added some details

here it is
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3383.jpgSuper Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3384.jpg

also, test fit the canopy hinge rear arm
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3385.jpg

and more pics with details added. I am sure there could be more accurate stuff placed there.
