hi Isaac

the struts and the landing gears are not fit correctly to the big SUPER MYSTERE because the 2 models are not the same.

i did some changes on the body of the big model and the wings and the main landing gears are not the same at all, because at the 1:30 model i focused as much as i can on the accuracy to the source and to the real bird.

you have to fit the size of the main landing gears to the shape and the size of the side doors of the main landing gears....also on the front landing gear.

good luck

YOAV

Yoav

I talked to yaron today regarding the landing gear. I agree that the struts did not properly match the model you designed.

Here are the corrections I made for the main gear

the parts to be removed

removed

and installed back.

I think it sits correctly now. The nose gear strut was cut back as well.

Gary

I built the drop tanks pylon and simulated the tank to see if the gear length looks correct

I will complete the gears next

Thanks

Isaac

nice work on the landing gear, but i think the main landing gear is to short, look at those pictures and you can see that the side door is a little bit more above from the main wheel

Exclamation We are both correct

Yoav

Depending on the weight condition of the aircraft and the remaining hydraulic pressure, the Oleo struts compress or extend to different length. A very light plane will have the strut position as you show, but a heavy plane will be lower to the ground due to the strut compression.

Since I plan to add the fuel tanks and the 450 Kg bombs to the pylons, the plane will have a heavy look to it, so that is why I selected my version.

here are pictures of a Super Mystere lower to the ground ( looks like both are low on hydraulic pressure ).

Smile Wing pylons

The pylons are simple, but are rendered wonderfully.

So here are four pylons

my only addition is to install a metal locating pin in the wing that also supports the pylon and extend to also support the load ( drop tanks and bombs )
Super Mystere-Yoav's version in 1/30 scale-img_3465.jpg

inner pylon installed

and all 4 on
