ME-109T from Nobi with pilot from John Griffin
I had this print stashed in an envelope from years ago but all sheets seem to be here. The air craft and the pilot have been printed at something around 1-48 to 1-50ish scale... I think. And the quality of my print isn't really great but good enough. My printer must have been about out when I attempted this. Then like so many of my prints I stashed it for another day. Today!
The model is from Nobi and was originally in 1:32 scale. It is the Messerschmitt Bf 109T. If you want to try your own build you can get the model here: https://www.ecardmodels.com/index.ph...t-bf-109t.html The pilot model comes from John Griffin over at gremirmodel. Both 1:24 and 1:33 scale. The download is free! You can find those here: Pilots I know, the pilot isn't in a German uniform but he will do! So on to the cutting and gluing!

Well, I got some done. I suspect my plane model is slightly under-scaled as happens with my model prints sometimes and my pilot might e to scale... so he may be a bit of a big boy. but he works.
The 109-T was a design intended to be used by a German aircraft carrier. Interesting...

More done. I actually expected this part to be complicated as it involves more pieces then on many other ME models. However Nobi knows what he is doing in model design and it so far has been simple, step by step. One small part leads to the next and then the next. Actually pretty easy. I have been using the glue tabs printed on printer paper that came with the model. I think I like them... but edge gluing has also worked for me in the past. This is a good learning lesson. Sadly, my print job is low quality or some of my colors have faded in the couple of years this has been sitting around. Either way, this model deserves a retry at some point, printed on full strength! Beautiful colors.

Well it's starting to look like an ME-109... still a bit sloppy on my part but the kit is going together well.

Well, getting close to being done with the body. Then on to the wings!
I think Big Bob will just clear the canopy. Still a bit sloppy on my part but I am overall pretty happy with it. This model is somewhat skinnier and longer then my other ME-109s even when taking into account of scale miscalculations with my printer. Not sure if that is a "T" variant thing or not. But it's a good looking model none the less. I may or may not use all of the wing spars that come with the kit. I can see where they would be needed on a 1/33 scale model but at 1/50 scale it my be a little much. I will see when I get there I guess.

Getting pieces done. At this smaller scale the center support and wing root support are all that is truly needed but what the heck! they were already printed! All parts fit well! Even the wheel wells went together well!

Interesting main wing assembly. I am used to a three section wing but Nobi uses a two section. Came out pretty good.Wheel wells came out nice and the model as a whole seem quite solid. I did leave off the end most wing spars as at this scale I really think the skin of the wing is plenty strong. I got some of the details under the wing done... on to more good stuff!

I need a 1/50 scale German torpedo now! Not sure if that was what would be used on this plane but it would be interesting...
