My ME-109 from Fiddler's Green
This is my first real attempt at a clear canopy. The model is a ME-109 from Fiddler's Green, the one page model. I used some scrap yellow card stock for this first try at adding details. The canopy is clear plastic film from a Fed Ex mailer. I also cut in some machine guns into the front, on the FG model they ae just printed. I also cut in some exhaust pipes as well, and the rudder has been made in a turning position. I have done the same with the rear elevator as well. The wings will have better landing gear fit into it as well. I was going to add an interior but I could not scale down one that was given to me, so I will save that for the two page model.

I have made a number of attempts at this FG model. A number of small ones, and two for the large two page models as well. This is my first real attempt at altering and adding to the model though. o far so good.

This is nice work, CT. I look forward to seeing the finished airplane. You did a good job with that canopy.

OK, all done. I may add the cannons, I don't know. I redid the landing gear, added the exhaust ports, and other details. It was good practice, and my last one I am doing with recycled poser board. My next one will be with good new card, and high quality color print.

Looks great! I wasn't able to finish it. I am a dolt when it comes to aircraft, especially FG. I just can't get the wings mated with the fuselage.

Thanks guys,
This one is my fifth ME-109 from Fiddlers Green. I have done them in a number of different scales, and so far, this one has come out the best. I am only now comfortable with making a full color one with good card stock. I may even try to do an interior on my next try. I have been pretty lucky with the fit between the wing and fuselage, although I usually bend/warp/crush the parts so much that I end up soaking them in glue to make them stiff after assembly! CT |
