Windsock Datafiles on the German aircraft often have a good description of the lozenge patterns at the end of the pamphlet. The info includes the repeat patterns and colors in several formats. Yours look good as-is. The top one and bottom one look like some that I have used in my models. There is also a treatise on the subject published in Cross & Cockade IIRC, and available in a PDF on the internet.

I've been lucky today! Pictures uploaded on first try. Apologies but my options for digital photography are limited at this point and I used my iPhone 5s for the images.

I did a first iteration in BW Paper and messed up a couple of things but learned even more. The wings came out pretty well however.

I added in the national markings and reprinted. My fuselage build this time is with card stock. I'm dithering around, sort of afraid to try to attach the bottom of the fuselage - my confidence in model building is not what it was at one time.

The camoflauges are unweathered/blurred, etc. at this time.

You can see my sort of representational engine peeking out from under the fuselage...

More importantly you can see in the first image the real driving force behind my builds!

Thank you, Wayne for the leads on lozenge information - I'll be following them up.

Rubén, I'm learning for myself about building at this scale. So far I have no great difficulties but I have sort of simplified the detailing. If it goes well enough, I will try to add more details in.

Sympathies for the stomach issues, John. I'm dealing with a series of low level health issues that bring me down for a few weeks at a time.

Jeff, I very much agree. I have actually worked backwards from wanting to play around with lozenge camoflauge, which led me to look for a model to try it on. The DVII seemed straightforward enough... until I decided that available models were not adequate for me, etc. Probably only 30 hours or so invested so far.

And rmks, if I understand what you are asking, it is the "Picture Frame" command in Rhino. This brings in an image as simply another part that can be scaled, moved, rotated. To a limited extent you can even cut it and manipulate the pieces separately. Thus, I brought the image in, scaled it, cut it and rotated one piece 90°.

This is a pleasant surprise seeing a new Golden Bear thread. Let me add my 'welcome back' to the others. See you still using the Duco cement and have a supervisor giving his approval of the tool layout.

Hey friend!! Well, you see the Duco cement tubes but they have not been used for this. I'm trying to join the rest of the pack and use Arlene Dahl's glue. What? it is just Aleene's? heh. And a little of the UHU gel which I love.

Note that there were almost no guy wires on the DVII. Good choice for a build!

You have definitely and accurately captured the look of the D.VII, and that particular livery looks very good to my eye.
