Thumbs up Other F-104 kits

In addition to the Kartonowa Kolekcia kit of the F-104G, GPM released one in German marine colors ( just about the same time )

and also an F-104C in USAF bare metal. I have that kit as well. It looks very delicate printed in silver.

There are also the Geli old version as well as the WHV in 1:50 and the IAF magazine repaint of this kit in Jordanian Air force colors ( I built this one back in the 60's ).

It is advisable to insert the fixing girder on rib 80. This girder can simply be drawn to the rib by searching for the axis of symmetry, which is somewhat lacking. Due to the lack of this girder, positioning of the fin in the vertical axis is difficult

Isaac,

Honestly, I can't recall any issues with the wing tip and wing fuel tanks. Formers fitted without problems, as well as the individual segments. KK chose to let the longitudinal seam coincide with the change in (tank inward) camo top/bottom colors, which is a smart design feature.

Cheers,
Erik

Forgot to mention: True, overall 9 months but that's including summer vacation break (1 month) and some 2 months I spent on another model. So nett building time was 6 months .

Exclamation

Erik

I need to finish my model in a month or at most first week in July since my work in Canada is coming to an end and I must pack up at the end of July

Destination unknown, but got things in the works. Paper building will continue wherever I go.

Unhappy Building start

The logical point to start is the cockpit area. There are many frames that form the basis of that section. My job is relatively easy since I used the laser cut frames

start the assembly, but

there us an error uploading pictures. Not sure if it is the server or my computer?

It looks like this site is having problems uploading photos. I just tried on posting photos on both an existing thread and creating a new thread. I was unable to load photos on either.

Good luck Isaac, you're on a tight schedule. Hopefully that doesn't conflict with the build. Paper modeling and time pressure usually do not make a good combination...

Cheers,
Erik
