Question A pointer for on the ground configuration

Since Yoav designs are always in a flying configuration, this particular aircraft needs a wing modification if you want to display it on its landing gear. Specifically, the wing leading edge slats are always down on the ground. This is because they are aerodynamically retracted when the airspeed is above landing speed and when the airspeed is low or non they drop.

Here is a picture of what it should look like on the ground.
This is from Zarkov kit I built a few years ago ( purchased from Moshe Lemer )

A true beauty Yoav. As all of your birds. What a great craftsman you are.

@Isaac: Thank you for the information. I think the slats will be the main problem when building the model with gears.

You can still build it with the slats retracted and gear down, that is only done in museums and displays where the slats are forced closed. However, that was not the natural position.

Any way you build it, this will surely be a great model to build in any configuration.

Well I like to build the plans as they look in service. Seems like I have to figure something out for the slats

Chris

I don't think it is too difficult to modify the wing leading edge to accommodate separate the slats cut out. And it is all painted red, so you can do it by hand.

As Isaac said........ also it wouldn't take much modification to make up some wings with that already done with shading to represent the slat area and then modding up some separate slat parts........

with Yoav's permission I plan on trying to make these mods....... along with some other addition parts..:-)

Thumbs up more mods

John

The thing that make our hobby interesting is that we can all make changes, modifications and add ons. If you note, almost all of my builds have modifications and additions. I personally welcome anyone to share their improvements with us all.

Just like in the plastic model world with all the conversions and improvements, we can do the same here. So go for it.
