Cool F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale

I am finally settled in Dayton Ohio and ready to build.

My project now is the Hobby Model F-84F Thunderstreak in 1:33 scale.

This is a repaint of a similar version colored in West German marking. In addition, there is an RF-84F Thunderflash model by Hobby model using many similar parts. I have built the Thunderflash while in japan in 2013. RF-84F Thunderflash- Hobby Model in 1/33 scale

Also, I would like to point you to an excellent build by Ricardo last year. He did a magnificent job on this kit.

Pictures and my build info soon.

Good luck with the build, Isaac.

I can remember watching these taking off at Langley Field at Civil Air Patrol summer camp in, I think, 1955.

Good luck with the F-84, Isaac, and thanks to the reference for my copy
For me, the main problem was the dubious paper quality...

Dubious means something that is questionable or unknown/not to be trusted.

מפוקפק

So the quality of the paper that Hobby Model printed kit is poor/ questionable or generally not very good. I had worse.

The problem that I see is that the paper is very sensitive to glue, does not round or handle well when forming.

Hi Isaac, good luck with your new project! Note that the Hobby model you refer to is of the Royal Dutch Air Force, not the West- German. The roundel is red-white-blue, from our national flag. And with an orange dot in the centre - the national color and family name of our royal family.

Cheers,
Erik

Erik

You misunderstood. The RF-84F kit is the Dutch Air force indeed, and that is the one I built. However, Hobby Model issued an F-84F in West German marking and NATO camouflage. That is the one I referred to.

See here. This is the W German version
