Aww, Grumman amphibs are classics! And that one is truly handsome.
In my world, round motors sound better than the other options.
Especially those screaming tubes.
(my cat named Grumman has a different attitude about water, though)

I believe that modification was McKinnon not Grumman but was done later to many of the planes used commercially..

Being the curious character that I am, I went playing in Google and found,

Tue Oct 30, 2012 6:01 am In fact, there are actually two different STCs to put retractable wingtip floats on a Goose. Technically, there are 3 but the early McKinnon STC (SA4-682) was subsequently replaced by one (SA4-1467) that also authorized a gross weight increase from 8,000 lbs to 9,200 lbs. Visually, there is no difference between the two McKinnon STCs - they both use a single steel strut to hold and support the floats.

The other STC (SA138SW) was owned by Pan Air of New Orleans and they are no longer in business. (They were bought out many years ago IIRC by Signature Flight Support and Signature eventually sold off the FBO that had been Pan Air at NEW.) In any case, the Pan Air retractable float mod looks just like the retractable wingtip floats on a Consolidated PBY and it was used on N48550 (G-21A s/n 1061) and N401SJ (ex-JRF-6B s/n 1168) for a couple of examples.

By comparison to the McKinnon float mod, the Pan Air mod is a bit heavier and sturdier, but it also raises the allowable max. gross weight of a G-21A to only 9,000 lbs. There's always a trade-off!

Thank you friends for your interest! It is appreciated, and hopefully I can distribute this one so anyone can give it a go .....
Meanwhile, I had a setback finding I had not made my pages all to the same scale, an error I did not notice as was printing off windows, an inexcusable mistake partly due to issues with my printer and my computer.... anyway am back on track I think..(small break to count to 10)
Here is the fuse and the center box, I should have I see taken pictures of putting in the box, but is not too difficult, placed in with a bit of room for glue and glued just the edge of the fuse to the edge of the hull on one side, then when holding well, same on other, I needed to add a bit and took a pic of that, no glue on the ends at all needed to put in the box.
