You did a great job, Isaac, and the model looks accordingly.
I am glad to see that you will finish it in time. Theo |

Main landing gear doors
As mentioned, the main landing gear doors consist of inner doors under the fuselage and wing doors. My error is that even though I used the kit parts, I cut them in the wrong location and thus, the wing doors looked very short.
In addition, I had lengthy conversation with Yoav and he pointed a couple of other issues that may have caused the placement of the main doors to be wrong. The main doors should have been much closer to each other ( about half the distance in my model ( but that is too late for me and may need to be re done when I build another Mystere in the future ). However, I did cut into the lower wing to fuselage fairing a bit. short door ( not correct ) here is the correct length wing doors ) note that I did not really do any work on the door interior surface. the actuators were added as well. The takeaway here is that if you build it gear down, then be careful with the door placement and make sure the wing is mated tightly to the fuselage. Isaac

Nose gear
Here is the simple gear and struts. main thing is to get the aircraft on the ground attitude correct, So it required a bit of shimming to the strut to keep it looking OK. There is a small actuator inside the bay as well, but not seen at all on the ground. I will add the landing light a bit later if I have time.
also I had to add a small amount of weight in the nose so the model is not a tail seater. In hindsight, your best place is in the nose inlet splitter. Isaac

Status pics- On wheels
Here is the current status of the model.
It is a beautiful day here in Toronto and there are many jazz festival performances in the city, so my wife and I are off to enjoy the sight and sounds. Isaac

Nose transparancy
Here is the small transparency in the nose inlet.
Just warm up a clear plastic sheet and press the end of a rounded stick to form the shape. Cut to size and glue in place. I will clean up the sticky glue remnants Isaac

Externals- start
this picture shows the model with drop tanks salvaged from the Super Mystere which turned out to be appropriate to the Mirage 3c.
But they are totally too large for the Mystere. I will build the smaller ones which are correct for this model. Stay tuned Isaac
