Negative, problem has not resolved, YOAV tower. Mayday, mayday, mayday. We have zero idea of what's going on with the A-4; Robot two, over.

i almost there.

just now i finished building the elevators.

what's left???
arresting hook
a lot of antenas and transmiters on the nose and the fuselage
and armament carriers.

YOAV

In the meantime, let's go over the elevators process.

the elevators.

the covers of the elevators base

part no' 17c pasted on the elevator

the upper cover no' 17 pasted on the elevator

the lower cover no' 17a pasted on the elevator

Note that both covers have volume as you will see in the following pictures.

the work is done, the 2 elevators connected to the tail fin.

The A-4 Skyhawks elevators have steering surfaces that move.
But even the whole elevators can move up and down.

so, for those who want to build the elevators angled down or up.
The following steps should be performed.

first....
cut the yellow area on the tail fin.

This is the elevator at zero angle

And this elevator at a low maximum angle.
Pay attention to what happened. The hole we had cut before opened.

Why is this so? I have no idea, but that's how it is in reality.
Here is a comparison picture to see how this actually exists.

Cool Horizontal stabilizer

A technical clarification on the tail surfaces

Those are called horizontal stabilizers , not elevators . The reason is that the entire horizontal surface moves as a unit around a pivot shaft . The small elevator looking surfaces at the trailing edge are trim tabs and are adjusted depending on the aircraft airspeed, configuration and center of gravity. This is a common design for all aircraft designed after the mid 50s .

Also, the A4 Skyhawks was designed as a low cost attack plane based on an aircraft carrier . As such there were shortcuts and aerodynamic sacrifices made . The construction of the vertical fin and rudder were very simple and the opening you see when maximum up deflection is a weight and cost reduction since it is only exposed briefly at low speed like take off and landing. So drag is low .

If you notice, the rudder on the real plane has all of its structure exposed on the outside as it sandwiches the rudder single inner surface. Again, this is a cost and weight reduction aspect

Lastly, even though the Skyhawks is carrier based, it had no folding wings to save weight and cost and thus it is very short wingspan , so they went with a delta wing to preserve as much area as they could to maintain a reasonable wing loading..
