It's a few hours after I finished the Draken. I'm so excited that my hands can rest a bit after that build. But my brain is screaming, begging for another model. So I zip over to my secret stash, randomly pull out a model, and it's this one (coincidentally another Stahlhart model). It's the Douglas F5D Skylancer, in the livery flown by the late first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong. Two pages of pattern and seven pages of instructions lie ahead...
Some info from Christoph's website: Douglas designed the Skylancer as an all-weather version of the F4D Skyray with which it shared the basic configurations. The Skylancer was very stable at supersonic speeds and highly maneuverable. Yet it was not ordered by the U.S. Navy in favor of the F8J Crusader. All four Skylancers built were obtained by NASA to be used as test aircraft, taking part in programs such as the Dynasoar space-plane test, the lifting body program and research for the supersonic transport program.

I've built a few of his IL-2's, they are fantastic little kits. Enjoy!
