Murph's Seabee

Started a build of a simple repaint of Aaron's Bare Metal Seabee kit. The engineering on the nose is wonderful and I expect the rest will fall into place just as well.

Regards,
John

Great start John. I look forward to seeing this come together.

Excellent model. Finally, we have a really accurate SeaBee. I only miss the cabin interior but that can be left to an ingenious modeler who can tackle this modification. The model seems accurate and fortunately it has formers. Also very well engineered developed which is not at all easy with so many intricate shapes. Congratulations Aaron. And you are doing a fantastic job, John. We'll look forward to the finish model.

Very good so far. Are the skis from the kit or your own design? I'm looking forward to more reports from your build.

You may be jesting Ringmaster, but such things do/did exist ....

If you Google Image search 'Twin Bee Aircraft' you'll find that there were quite a lot of them converted to twin engines. Not many still airworthy though.

Excellent start you've made there YJ. I hadn't noticed the SeaBee's arrival in Aaron's list, but on the strength of your picture I was straight there and ordered the set of 5. Droolin' over them now. :-)

Thanks Knife. The skis are my own guesstimate from pictures. Hours of online searching have not found dimensions for the Federal 3500 skis approved for the Seabee. Transport Canada had also approved skis made in Edmonton, but that company seems to be long gone. If anyone has photos or info on actual Seabee straight skis (not the new wheel-skis currently seen), I would appreciate the info.

Some additional work in progress and will be posted soon.

Regards,
John
