Nice. Those stub exhausts may have a trim purpose for flight, perhaps lifting the nose a little.

Google "Supermarine Spitfire exhaust types" There are pages and pages of them.
Some are pictures of resin parts to correct Plastic models. It looks to me like the
Mk 1, II & V had the old type and the Mk III changed to individual stacks but, they
were not the same shape, some had round openings others flaired. I think There
is enough research here to prove the Israeli Spits were Mk IX's. I haven't found out
why they they were changed. Probably Merlin types or later engines. Must have been
some reason.
