Kampfflieger's Piaggio P.C. 7 racer
Here's a plane I've had for a while and always wanted to build. The Piaggio P.C. 7 from Master Roman Vasyliev. The original aircraft was built to compete in the 1929 Schneider Trophy race. It shows thinking way outside the box. Instead of floats, the aircraft had hydrofoils and a water propeller to get the fuselage out of the water for takeoff.
The model has a few lines that don't quite line up but builds up to be a beautiful model. I made a paper cylinder for the prop so the propeller can be rotated. The water propeller has a toothpick inside that allows it to rotate also. I'm pretty sure I originally got the model from ecardmodels.com, but I don't see it in their current selection. |

Fascinating airplane and your usual well-crafted work on the model.

Nice job, I've had this one printed and on the pile for years. I think I got mine from Dewayne back in the day.

Couldn't find it either. Even checked on the back end but no joy. Only two Piaggi planes that ECM has are 2 Piaggio Avanti's, scale 1/38, with different tail no's. Knife, can you double-check and make sure that your plane is by der Kampfflieger? Appreciate it.

It is definitely Kampflieger's. Like rmks2000 says above, I probably picked it up from Dewayne way back when.

According to the file date, I bought mine back in July of 2006. Only model I ever managed to get "Picture of the Week" for, back on the old Cardmodels forum. It was up for 2 days before the forum crashed. The model itself only lasted a little while after that, before encountering one of our cats.
