Models By Marek, Nieuport 17 c.1, 1/33
Hi!
Welcome in my new Report. The model that I am going to make is French fighter from WW I, Nieuport 17 c.1. Model shows plane used by Imperial Russian Air Serice. I bought this model at Zarkov Models and it was designed by Marek Pacynski (Marek) in 1/33 scale. If you wanna get this model this is the direct link: Nieuport 17 So, in the box we have 3 A4 pages with color parts. Model doesn't seem difficult if you wanna make pure standard. There might be some problems if you want to upgrade and enhace parts. As always before work I covered the pages with clear matt Varnish. And when it comes to my model, I am going to make it a little bit upgraded I started with cockpit and the equipment there. So far I've made pedals, clock, switch, gear and seat with belts. All the parts are painted with Citadel colors. I've changed a little bit the pedals, gear and seat by adding extra parts. Here's small comparison between autor's project and my upgrades according to renders and photos of Nieuport's original cockpit. And everything together Next I am going to make full cocpit. There are some parts that I wanna upgrade Lukas |

Some of the Marek Nieuports have a problem regarding the engine. Some have a mixed batch of engine parts (some 9-cylinder and some 11-cylinder.) The correct engine is a 9-cylinder. I know there is a corrected engine available from eCardmodels - Zarkov may have it available also. Other than that problem it's a well-designed model.

Outstanding job on the pilot's seat and cockpit accoutrements.
I think this is the model of the Gnome Monosoupape rotary engine designed by Roman Vasyliev (Kampfflieger) that YankeeBoy is talking about: https://www.ecardmodels.com/index.ph...per-model.html Don |

Actually it's this one, Don - and it's free!
https://www.ecardmodels.com/index.ph...per-model.html This can also be used to correct some of the Sopwith Pups by Marek.

If it looks this good at this early stage of the build, I can't wait to see the finished product.

Hi!
Thank you for all the comments! YankeeBoy, I've got this engine So everything is under control I've made sides and rear of cockpit. It took a while, but I think that the final effect is good. I've done Vickers machine gun too. Now I am going to finish whole cockpit. Lukas |

Outstanding clean, precise work. I agree that the final effect is "good," but I would use a much stronger term.
This is shaping up to be a superb representation of the 15-meter N.17.C.1. Question for you (and YankeeBoy): Did the C.1 designation mean that this aircraft was powered by a Clerget, rather than a Le Rhône, engine? Or what? Don |
