Gary Pilsworth's Piper PA-24 Comanche

The is the Piper Comanche gracefully provided by Gary Pilsworth. The kit can be downloaded here: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/v...ownloadid=2729. The original design is 1/24 but I shrunk it down to 1/48 scale. The only problem I had was the tires, which if built as designed are much to fat. Cut the part that forms the center section of the tire half as thick as shown and it works much better. One other small detail is the photo that I found of the airplane over at airliners.net shows a three bladed prop on the aircraft. But that could have been added later in the airplane's lifespan. Overall, the model builds well and is very accurate to the original airplane. Much thanks to Sir Pilsworth for another great design.

The Comanche I flew had a two-bladed prop. That is a beautiful model.

Absolutely beautiful. The excellence of your build really shows up in the image of the model right next to the actual aircraft.

Beautiful model. Congratulations. The Piper Comanche deserves a special place in civil aviation. About the two or three blade propeller. The Comanche started with 180 hp engine, then it was increased to 250 and finally to 400 hp. The first two had two blades constant speed Hartzell propeller. The 400 hp version, three blades. The Comanche designed by Mr. Pilsworth depicts the 1958 version which was only available with either 180 or 250 hp.
Please note: You have installed a pusher propeller. Check and see that the pitch of the blades is reversed. Apart from this small detail, your model is tops. It is a real pity that this model does not have the full interior. Who will be the first to incorporate it? Greetings from Sunshine State.

Is great to see someone actually building it.
That's a nice model, and your build turned out beautiful.
