Fw190 a-8
Dear PMs
Sorry for the absence, its been too long I know. Anyway, Jim Nunn has inspired me to make another Instrument Panel (yes the 1:1 scale MC202 Panel has been on hold whilst I've been working on this project). The idea behind this panel is that between me and Jim we would produce something that could be made my other modelers instead of just a full scale one off which I usually produce. Having deliberated over which panel to design, I decided on something which had plenty of information on the net. The panel in question is that of a FW190 A-8. Which looks something like the one below (slightly different Mk shown below but you'll get the idea): Anyway, I've made this prototype which needs a few tweaks here and there and some more detail putting in certain areas (handles need making, light switches need changing or adding, throttle to be made, pipework etc). Here's a few pics of the prototype so far, its a rough cut but the next build will be very neat!: FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Out of interest is anyone interested in such a paper model? If theres enough interest Ill crack on with Jim Nunn and produce it as a deliverable (printable model). Likewise when Ive completed the panel with all the fine detail ill complete this thread with a full build? Oh yes, almost forgot! This model is not full size, its a 1/4 model. Its made from Paper, Card and clear Plastic and all stuck together with pritstick. FW190 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Let me know what you think, is there anything more I can add/change etc. regards from myself and Jim Nunn |

Your creations HAVE been missed but doing too much of a good thing can get to be too demanding. I cannot see how this project can fail, especially when you are obviously a perfectionist. Not in a position to acquire one of these myself at the moment but I did suggest these would make a fine piece of artwork for mounting on a wall in a hallway etc. Apart from this site there are numerous sites where you could advertise these products. You deserve to make a good return for your hard work. I really hope it goes that way.

Excellent, I am sure there will be many who would purchase this and would also be looking for Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, P38, Me 109, etc etc to complete the collection.

Dear alzictorini:
I would respectively suggest even a part The clock as a get your feet wet type of model with the idea that one could get a clock movement and have a desk piece. don't think that I would tackle building whole panel but clocks from war birds would be neat. Welcome back, Miles |

Aviation Clocks
PMs
Good to see there's some interest here, as always thanks for the support. Mike - in a way you are correct, I have had quite a lot of enquirers into the instrument panels and people have asked me to design a few different types Its been busy). Smaller is better for mass production though as quite rightly said, they hang on walls very easily in this scale. Miles, Clocks - I have had lots of interest in the Aviation Clocks also! Since my first attempt at the Junghans clock for the 109 I've improved the construction method perfecting it in the Sonia for the MC202. I received a request from Germany to produce a clock for presentation which I'm still working on. Again a different technique and material and as it will be handled, I am making the outer layer of plastic instead of paper for obvious reasons. Junghaus by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Junghans - All made of paper with watch workings. Untitled by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Untitled by Al Zictorini, on Flickr The Sonia, made from paper but with better clock mechanism and glow paint. Sinn nabo17 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Sinn nabo17 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr Sinn nabo17 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr sin1 by Al Zictorini, on Flickr The Sinn NaBo - Made from MDF and Plastic. Because this clock is made of MDF and Plastic, I cant really make a build thread on it as its no longer paper. Anyway the techniques are well on the way to being fully developed. Anyway - Ill crack on with the FW 190 A-8 panel and post a build thread here in a while. Regards |
