A320 Air New Zealand

I'm working on this model, but it's going slowly. I've never built an aircraft this big. Julius Perdana did a great job creating the original and John Bowden's recolor is really nice. The instruction pictures are OK, but lack a lot of detail. For instance, there's no help putting the engines together. I guess I'll figure it out through trial and error. Also, this piece has me stumped. I know it's the wing support and it threads through the fuselage, but how's it go together? How thick should it be? The hole in the fairing seems too big for this piece. My build photos are kind of random. You can see them here: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...VxS2VnQ0ZUbzB3

I made the nose on my 3D printer. I couldn't make it decently out of paper!

It is my project. You are right, this part – the wings support. But it was the experimental (temporary) design (for 1/100. but not 1/72!!!). I had to make it again. But the model «flowed away» in the Internet …
On photos can see, how to connect parts together. The hole has to be big that after gluing of fuselage fairing, it was possible to establish a support through a wing.
Cardboard for support of 0.5 - 1 mm

I made a PDF of how I assemble the engines (my design) in the 32X thread.........but I'll post it here too.

Also I've found using Bamboo Skews for wing supports is easier for me

forgot.......... the nose does take a little work to get right. I made a tool to help me with assemble.......

It helps to massage the paper into the correct shape for gluing.

John, that is a good idea for shaping.
I use dapping punches like these and a brass dapping block.

Thanks Tigris and John. I did look around the house for the right size ball, but didn't have one. Then I got my 3d printer and in a few minutes I had a decent nose, so I'll go with that. I hope that doesn't disqualify me.

I know a lot of rocket models suggest using a small bead for the tip of the nose cone. I never had problems with cones, cylinders, or other geometric shapes - even petal nosecones - but the kind in this model stumped me.

You may think 3D printers cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I did. You'll be pleasantly surprised that the price has come WAY down. They can be had for less than $200 for a home model (professional models still cost thousands). I got the MP Select Mini 3D Printer V2. You can get it for $199 on sale (but now it's $219). The printer comes highly recommended and it comes fully assembled. A lot of the lower price printers come as a box of parts you have to put together. And you better do it carefully or you'll have alignment issues. Just FYI.
