Help-printers boo boo
Ok so heres my problem.Awhile ago i bought skylines excellent b767 from EL AL.Sent it to my local quick print centre to get printed.Model is 1;72 scale printed at A4 and i got it done on my usual 165gm card.Printers buggered up the job and printed it on 165gm card but at A3 SIZE.Idid calm down when they charged me a4 prices.So 2 questions here;
1.what scale will model end up as -i know it will be huge based on the air new zealand one ive already done. 2.more importantly will the model be strong enough built of 165gm card at this size.I dreading ending up with a floppy 767

if you are worried about floppiness, stuff it with cheap TP

A quick guesstimate would be 1/36 since A3 is twice the size of A4.
Do like Rick suggested and stuff it with cheap TP.

At that scale, I will expect you to do the complete interior and cockpit. Did the graphics scale up OK?

printing a letter or A4 size kit on 11x17/A3 is roughly a 125% increase
so, somewhere around 1:60-ish

That's what I do with almost all my card models! Works GREAT!

i knew it wasnt exactly double. but wasnt sure what the equation was,the scale it comes out at is not the issue here its more about whether model will be strong enough.

Regarding sturdiness, if the gramature is the same, the weight scales with area, therefore is 200% of A4 and your model will be 50% as sturdy because sheet strength is roughly proportional to thickness, which is the same. *remember, width x height = area, therefore if area doubles, linear dimensions increase only by sqroot(2) |
