Helo all,
Going forward with the model, wing fairings are done, with some adjustments need to be done at the lower wing were the fairing ends. In parallel working on the cockpit. This is haw it should look like ... The two 0.5inch machine guns are part of the cockpit, and I added sum details to the front panel.Right side is the original front panel. Sorry for not responding earlier Mike1158, Shalom Mor |

You are doing an outstanding job on this model, Mor. It is a pleasure to see your work.
Since you have clearly been doing research on the aircraft, I wonder if you can clear up something that is confusing me. The tail number of the model is 21142 (42-1142), a number that was actually assigned to a DeHavilland Canada-built PT-24-DH Tiger Moth assigned to the Royal Canadian Air Force as CF-CVZ (1942 USAAF Serial Numbers (42-001 to 42-30031)). The name of the Flymodel aircraft is "Little Sir Echo." There WAS at least one P-39 named "Little Sir Echo," but it was a P-39N-5-BE, serial 42-19027 assigned to 5th Air Force, 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group, 82nd Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron and flown by pilot Lyndall Tate. In accordance with 5th Air Force marking conventions, the aircraft had a white (not yellow) tail, nose ring, spinner, and wing leading edges. The aircraft survived the war and is on display at the Planes of Fame Museum (Bell P-39 Airacobra - A Warbirds Resource Group Site). Was there another aircraft with the same name and with the serial 21142 and yellow markings? Or do you think Flymodel has presented us with a notional (albeit very pretty) airplane? https://www.pacificwrecks.com/aircra.../42-19027.html Don |

Looking great!
This aircraft has some beautiful lines. And it is always a pleasure to see someone building it. Don: I believe it is the latter you said. Probably Flymodel got the tail number wrong, or relied on the kind of incomplete and sometimes contradictory information of the old documentation. Or just didn't care at all. It is not the first time that happens. I remember their F-15C has the serial number of the first F-15A. And there may be other similar cases. (edit: just checked my copy of the Flymodel B-25 Mitchell and it also has an incorrect tail number).

Thanks Don, Rubenandres77 and Yoav.
Regarding your's question Don, my research was more for details of this aircraft and not regarding this special model serial number. Actually I didn't fined a profile of this specific model, but found another profile from a plastic model release that is called "Little Sir Echo" I think that Rubenandres77 is right. This Flymodel model was released more than 10 years ago, and the emphasis on the accuracy of this details was less advance than is today. Hope to present this and other models at the December annual meeting, but I need to finish it first. Shalom Mor |

Thanks for the feedback Reuben and Mor. It seems to be a "notional" P-39, but a very good-looking one.

Hello Don, smithdr and Mike1158,
Working on the landing gear, and going through my p-39 pictures and walk around for some detailing of the landing gear. Up to this point it was build to print. Shalom Mor |
