Bell P-39Q Airacobra by Fly model

Hello all,

Didn't follow this forum for while, part of it was because of a computer crush. Used the free time to start a new model - P39Q Airacobra, a Flymodel number 79 that includes also the Zero.

Fuselage is made of 9 parts, bottom of the first 7 parts is cut out for the nose landing gear and the wings. The result are fine with one criticism - the cut outs cause a challenge to form the right shape of the forward fuselage, at the end, I did it without the formers.

Cockpit frame was inserted and bonded, while using a roller making sure that the sides are flat.

The wing's beam and formers are assembled separately and bonded to the fuselage cut out.Wing mid section covers it.

The wing outer parts are bonded to the formes. Trying to close the gape deformed the wings, and I preferred to deal later with the gaps.

It became a nice looking model, but a challenging one!

Very nice work, Mor. The Air cobra looks great.

What a pity about the gaps. But the rest is coming out nice!

Thanks Gary, Don, Rubenandres77 and Yoav. My intention is to cover the gaps.
Working in parallel on the cockpit and landing gears.

Nice model. I am glad to see this one. Especially that my cobra from Halinski is waiting in the line
Those gaps are not so big deal. You can cover them with putty or some paper stipes. Then paint with proper paint.

Good luck with the model!

Thanks 7TP and Theo.

The Zero was build some years ago, but needs some improvements or a new one ...
